Kayla Comer, OTR/L
Kayla, a Red Bluff, native returns to the Physical Therapy & Wellness Center team after earning her Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Dominican University of California in 2017. Prior to her enrollment at Dominican, she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology in 2009 from California State University, Chico.
Kayla has acquired a wide variety of skills throughout her education and clinical experiences. At Dominican University of California, Kayla had a well-rounded experience in all areas of Occupational Therapy and had multiple opportunities present her research project on fall risk reduction at both the state and national level. Kayla has an extensive range of clinical experiences in Occupational Therapy from outpatient services to inpatient behavioral health. During her level II outpatient fieldwork experience, she found a passion and love for upper extremity rehabilitation and is currently in the process of obtaining an advance practice in hand therapy.
Kayla describes her clinical approach as blending compassionate care with advanced rehabilitation skills. She believes in the promotion of health and well-being through active involvement in meaningful occupations.
In her spare time, Kayla enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys traveling, playing and watching sports, and baking.
